Machining ProcessCNC Finishing Process
Custom aluminum sand-casting or mold enquiries include separately specified stainless-, carbon- or alloy-steel components. OEM/ODM work should identify whether the deliverable is a casting, mold or separately processed part. Assign the complete material grade and compatible route to each item.
Define the mold and component work package
Mold services include design, fabrication, testing and maintenance. Investment/lost-wax casting, precision forging, machining and CNC finishing are named processing requests. Show the functional interfaces and supplied boundaries needed from the actual tool or component.
Place precision at the selected operation and stage
The tolerance reference is ±0.005 mm. Identify the controlled dimensions, operation, measurement basis and delivered stage for the chosen geometry. Mark datums and relationships governing assembly fit, distinguishing cast or forged form from the interfaces requiring final CNC acceptance.
Set surfaces and inspection methods
Anodizing, polishing, plating, powder coating and sandblasting are finish choices for a compatible substrate. Inspection references include spectrometer, UT, caliper, depth caliper, R gauge and CMM. Define actual coverage, acceptance criteria and records for the selected material and final surface.
- Automotive, machinery, medical-equipment, electronic, electrical and household requests need their own duty.
- Provide quantity and the controlling drawing revision.
- Specify material, dimensional and appearance records.
- Explain what an initial item must demonstrate.
Retain approved material, route and geometry changes with the order so acceptance follows the actual tool or processed component and its required supplied condition.
