Custom aluminum engine-block or housing sand castings are available for automotive OEM/ODM enquiries. The minimum order is one piece and samples are available. Define the actual component, complete alloy and supplied boundary so the casting request addresses the selected engine design.
Show the engine interfaces on the drawing
Identify the mounting, locating and working geometry connecting the component to adjoining parts. Mark datums and dimensional relationships controlling fit. State the material condition and service requirements relevant to the selected block or housing rather than relying on a general automotive description.
Specify the supplied geometry and identification
Sizes and dimensions are customized. Distinguish cast-state areas from interfaces needing a particular finished condition and identify measurement requirements. For a custom logo, provide artwork, placement and appearance criteria while keeping functional surfaces and controlled dimensions identifiable.
- Provide quantity and the controlling component revision.
- Define material and dimensional approval records.
- Explain what the sample must demonstrate, including the engine interfaces that must be assessed together during approval.
- Specify customer-required packing and finished-interface protection.
Agree strict inspection for the actual casting
The stated strict 100% inspection should address agreed characteristics of the selected automotive component. Define checks, acceptance criteria and reporting, and request applicable IATF16949 documentation and scope. Retain the accepted alloy, geometry and supplied-state requirements with approved changes so production approval follows the actual engine-block or housing casting ordered.
