Define mold and component geometry
Show the intended part and the relationship with any tooling included in the order. Mark mounting, locating and mating interfaces with adjoining equipment. Establish functional limits and measurement conditions for the geometry controlling installation or operation.
Scope further work and supplied surfaces
Identify interfaces requiring machining after casting and distinguish them from regions accepted in the cast state. The requested stainless component or tooling package can include a customer-specified surface treatment. Define the compatible procedure, coverage and final appearance or contact result required for the selected stainless component.
Set inspection and international-document scope
