Identify whether the order concerns a brass sand-cast component, a stamped part or tooling before defining the manufacturing scope. This OEM/ODM enquiry includes mould, stamping-part and mould-design selections, with punching-mould work named. Communication, electronic and medical-part requests need their own component and tooling requirements.
Separate the component metal from the mould steel
Aluminum, copper and stainless steel are named product-material enquiries alongside the separate brass-casting request. Mould-steel choices are H13, P20, NAK80, S136, 2738, 2316, S7 and 1.2344. Specify which material belongs to the product and which belongs to its tool, with the mould base defined by the project request.
Apply life, cavity and runner references to the tool type
Tooling references include 300K–1000K shots, 1–128 cavities and hot- or cold-runner options. Select the relevant requirements for the actual mould design rather than assigning every reference to a punching tool. Define the tool's operating and acceptance requirements alongside the component it is intended to produce.
- Identify mould supply, stamping parts, design work or brass casting.
- Provide the product geometry and controlled drawing revision.
- Select product material, mould steel and base requirements.
- Define applicable cavity, runner and tool-life requirements.
- State quantity and the delivered tooling or component condition.
- Identify inspection and qualification documents for the order.
Define design and manufacturing deliverables
CNC, EDM, wire cutting and drilling are named manufacturing services, with PRO/E, AutoCAD and UG design resources. Specify the design data and tool or part deliverables needed for the project. The quotation should distinguish the finished component from the tooling and design work included.
Identify the applicable qualification scope
ISO9001, TS16949, QS and ISO14001 are stated references. Specify the actual documents and scope required for the selected mould or part. An application name alone should be accompanied by the component-specific acceptance requirements for purchasing.
