Custom cast-iron sand castings can be requested for industrial-equipment components. Define the actual part and complete iron grade around the function it must serve. The drawing should identify the required cast geometry and condition in which the component is to be supplied.
Describe the equipment relationship
Show where the casting locates, mounts or contacts surrounding equipment. Identify the operating duty and environment relevant to the selected design. Connect those requirements to the material condition and working interfaces of the actual iron component.
Set functional limits on the drawing
Mark locating references and dimensions governing installation or operation. Define permitted limits and the measurement conditions used for acceptance. Distinguish regions accepted in their cast state from surfaces needing an additional supplied result.
- Provide the industrial casting’s quantity and controlling revision.
- Identify the mounting and mating geometry with adjoining components.
- Describe the required final surface at working and visible areas.
- Specify material, dimensional or surface records needed for approval.
Establish the component approval basis
Explain what an initial item must demonstrate against its actual equipment interfaces. Agree how the selected grade, geometry and supplied state will be assessed. Keep accepted design changes together in the component record, including the characteristics governing fit. Use that approved definition when requesting repeat castings for the same industrial function rather than relying on a general part name alone.
