Custom ductile-iron sand castings with CNC machining can be specified for industrial components. OEM work covers customized dimensions, color and requested surface treatment. Select the complete iron grade and define the geometry and supplied condition required by the component’s actual function.
Mark the CNC work from the assembly
Identify mounting, mating and contact interfaces with the datums controlling their relationships. Assign the finished dimensions and acceptance limits to the required CNC work. Distinguish those areas from cast surfaces and identify the stage at which final geometry is measured.
Describe the surface on the chosen substrate
State the treatment and color required for the actual part, with coverage and appearance criteria on identified faces. Mark any masking or contact condition where the finish could affect fit. A sample should illustrate the requested result against the drawing and supplied-state definition.
Set the component inspection requirements
Agree the material, dimensional and visual checks needed for the selected design. Identify methods, limits and records supporting approval, including any application-specific requirements in the quotation. Keep the inspection instruction connected to the geometry and final surface that will be delivered.
Identify the quality-system scope
ISO9001 is the quality-management-system reference. Request the applicable certificate and covered supplier activities alongside the component requirements. Provide quantity and the controlled revision, retaining the approved grade, CNC interfaces and surface definition for production acceptance so the custom casting has a clear order basis.
