Custom gray-iron components can be requested through resin-sand molding with powder-coated surface treatment. Select the complete iron grade for the actual part and its working duty. The component drawing should establish the cast geometry and condition required at supply.
Show the resin-sand casting in its assembly
Identify mounting and mating interfaces with the surrounding equipment. Mark the locating references and dimensions governing installation or working fit. State the service environment and material requirements relevant to the selected gray-iron design.
Define the supplied geometry and coating boundaries
Distinguish areas accepted in their cast state from surfaces needing a particular final result. Specify the permitted limits and measurement conditions for functional relationships. Define where powder coating is required, its appearance and the contact conditions at treated areas.
- Mark working interfaces needing masking or a different supplied condition.
- Provide the resin-sand component’s quantity and controlling revision.
- Identify material, dimensional and surface approval records.
- Explain what an initial iron casting must demonstrate at its mating interfaces.
Agree final acceptance for the selected part
Describe how geometry and coated appearance will be assessed against the component’s intended use. Keep the selected grade and final surface requirement connected where coating can affect installation. Retain accepted drawing and coverage changes with the approved casting definition, so a repeat order addresses the same gray-iron component rather than an unspecified surface-treatment request.
