A precision-component enquiry should connect its forming route to the work required on the finished part. This service combines custom casting enquiries with CNC and micro-machining capabilities. Establish the component material and final geometry before selecting the processes that belong in the proposed supply scope.
Choose the route from the required geometry
Investment, sand, die and gravity casting are separate enquiry options for the selected component. Identify the applicable route and the condition of the proposed blank before defining subsequent machining. The drawing should show the dimensions and surfaces that govern the completed part, keeping the process discussion attached to a particular geometry.
- Broaching is included in the CNC capability scope.
- Drilling can be selected for defined component requirements.
- Laser machining provides an additional processing option.
- Milling addresses the agreed work on the part.
- Wire EDM is available for separately specified machining tasks.
- Micro machining is included among the capabilities.
- Other machining services can be discussed against the component brief.
Specify the micro-machining requirement
Identify the dimensions, tolerances and surface requirements relevant to the small machined areas of the proposed part. Agree the actual acceptance basis instead of relying on the micro-machining term to define a minimum size. The selected operation should be evaluated against the material and geometry of the individual component.
Carry the material into the supply brief
Stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, hardened metals and precious metals are separate material enquiries. Name the required designation, quantity and finish for the component, and attach those choices to its approved drawing. For this casting-and-machining service, the useful proposal identifies the finished part and the operations needed to supply it, without treating every capability as a mandatory process chain.
