Product description

Engine-block and cylinder prototype enquiries should begin with the item that must be delivered. This scope includes 3D-printed sand moulds, metal casting, low-pressure casting and CNC machining requests. Identify whether the project requires a mould, a cast prototype or a finished machined engine component.

Define what the prototype must demonstrate

Describe the evaluation purpose and the geometry that the prototype must represent. Provide the block or cylinder drawing with the interfaces and dimensions relevant to that purpose. Identify any internal or external geometry that is essential to the evaluation rather than assuming the full production specification from the component name.

  • Identify a printed mould, cast prototype or machined component.
  • Supply the controlled model and dimensional requirements.
  • Select the required alloy and blank-making route.
  • State quantity and the desired supplied condition.
  • Mark functional interfaces and acceptance limits.
  • Describe the prototype evaluation and inspection needs.

Choose the mould and casting scope for the design

Discuss the 3D-printed sand-mould or low-pressure-casting requirement against the selected material and geometry. The named methods should be assigned to the actual project rather than assumed to form one compulsory sequence. Define the component and any separate mould deliverable in the quotation.

Specify CNC interfaces and final acceptance

Mark the surfaces requiring CNC work and the limits needed after machining. State the condition in which the prototype must be received and the checks that establish its acceptance. The agreed alloy, geometry and supplied scope should define the enquiry without an unstated accuracy, engine fit or functional-performance guarantee.
