Industrial sand-casting enquiries include GG20 gray iron and separately specified ductile iron. OEM/ODM sizes, casting tolerances and surface treatment follow customer requirements. German- or American-standard requests should identify the actual governing document for the selected component.
Select the iron family and complete grade
State the material designation, document edition and required condition. Show how the casting functions in its intended industrial assembly. Connect the grade selection to the component’s working requirements, keeping each material request attached to its own drawing.
Make customized geometry measurable
Mark mounting, locating and contact interfaces with the datums controlling their relationships. Put the applicable dimensional limits on the drawing and identify the supplied state in which they are assessed. Include the treatment boundaries needed where surface work affects fit or appearance.
Assign CMM inspection to the acceptance brief
The stated 100% inspection with CMM should address the agreed controlled dimensions and records for the selected iron casting. Define measurement conditions and reporting requirements. Request applicable ISO9001:2015 documentation and scope alongside the component-specific inspection plan.
Provide a usable drawing and approval package
Submit 2D PDF or CAD information, or 3D IGES or STEP files. Include quantity and identify the controlling revision. Explain the purpose of any initial sample and the material, dimensional and surface evidence needed to approve it, maintaining that component definition through the production order.
