Heat-resistant slag-trough castings need an alloy selected for the actual contact and thermal duty. This OEM/ODM sand-mold casting enquiry names ASTM A297 grade requests and customized sizes from customer drawings. Optional machining and polishing can be included in the finished-component scope.

Describe the trough's thermal and contact conditions

Provide the operating temperature, cycle and relevant slag or metal contact conditions. Show the trough geometry and the interfaces used to locate or connect it. These requirements allow the alloy enquiry to be assessed against the real component duty rather than a general heat-resistant description.

  • Submit the trough drawing and controlled revision.
  • Select the required alloy grade and standard.
  • Describe thermal cycles and contact conditions.
  • Mark finished interfaces and acceptance requirements.

Choose the ASTM A297 grade for the design

Named grade enquiries are HF, HI, HK, HE, HT, HU, HW, HX, HC, HD and HL. Identify the selected designation and applicable specification for the ordered trough. Stainless-steel material requests are also named, with GB, ASTM, AISI, DIN and BS among the standard families to specify as relevant.

Define machining, polishing and inspection requirements

The stated sequence is casting, machining if needed and surface treatment, with polishing as the named finish. Identify which interfaces require machining and the surface condition needed on receipt. The minimum order is one piece, allowing the enquiry to focus on an individually specified trough. Agree the material and dimensional acceptance criteria for that component, without deriving a numerical temperature limit or lifetime from the grade list alone.
