Large iron components can be quoted from drawings or samples with casting, machining and finishing requirements defined together. This service names grey-iron HT250 and GG25 enquiries and ductile-iron GGG40 and FCD500 choices. Select the grade under its required standard for the actual component.

Separate casting tolerance from machining acceptance

The casting-tolerance reference is CT9–11. Machining references are up to IT7 and Ra 0.8–3.2, with the roughness unit and applicable surface requirements to be agreed on the drawing. Identify which dimensions remain in the casting scope and which receive finished machining so these references are applied to the correct stage.

Allocate the secondary operations to the part

CNC machining, drilling, milling, boring and tapping are offered. Mark the required interfaces and give the finished dimensions or thread requirements relevant to the design. The component's full envelope and mating geometry should accompany those details when discussing a large casting.

  • Supply the drawing or sample information and required quantity.
  • Choose the iron grade and governing material standard.
  • Mark cast dimensions, machined interfaces and surface requirements.
  • Identify the required treatment and inspection acceptance.

Select Dacromat coating or finish painting as required

Dacromat coating and finish painting are named surface-treatment options. State the treatment required by your component and any contact areas needing specific instructions. The finish request should describe the condition of the part on receipt, including interfaces affected by the treatment.

Identify V-belt pulleys within the component request

Cast-iron V-belt pulleys are an additional named supply enquiry. Provide their groove or rim geometry and shaft connection if that is the component being ordered. For another large part, define its own drawing and supply requirements rather than carrying pulley-specific order details into an unrelated casting.
