Custom OEM enquiries include brass, bronze, copper or aluminum parts with selected sand- or investment-casting routes. Choose the complete grade and compatible manufacturing method for each component. The drawing should identify the geometry, working requirements and state in which the part must be supplied.

Connect the alloy choice to the part’s function

Explain the intended assembly and operating conditions relevant to material selection. Show mounting, locating and contacting interfaces with adjoining components. Identify the governing material document and required condition so the enquiry describes the actual nonferrous part being considered.

Make geometry and final interfaces measurable

Put datums and dimensional limits on the drawing. Distinguish surfaces accepted in their cast state from areas needing a particular finished condition or additional work. Identify relationships that require joint assessment to establish installation and working fit.

Define the approval evidence for the supplied result

Specify material, dimensional and surface records needed for acceptance. Mark visible and working areas with particular finish or appearance requirements. State any application-specific checks imposed by the design and the conditions under which those characteristics will be assessed.

  • Provide quantity and the controlling component revision.
  • Identify the required final material condition.
  • Explain what a sample or initial item must demonstrate.
  • Retain approved grade and geometry changes with the drawing.

Keep the selected route and delivered-state definition connected to the order so production approval follows the actual custom brass, bronze, copper or aluminum component.
