Custom gray- or ductile-iron sand castings follow the selected component drawing, with dimensions, wall thickness and surfaces specified for the order. Define the complete grade and required material condition. The enquiry should identify the actual part and the state in which it must be supplied.

Make wall thickness part of the component definition

Show overall geometry, internal form and the relationships to adjoining components. Mark the dimensions and datums governing fit. Identify which areas are accepted as cast and which require a particular final condition or additional work within the requested scope.

Define the selected surface result

Surface treatment is customized. Specify coverage, appearance and contact conditions for working or visible areas. Include masking and dimensional-assessment requirements where the finish affects installation, keeping the surface brief connected to the actual material and geometry.

Assign inspection to the material and manufacturing stages

Inspection scope includes raw-material control, heat-treatment condition and finished-product inspection. Define methods and acceptance records for the selected grade and part. Identify what must be demonstrated before the component is accepted in its required delivered state.

  • Full-process support covers the design and supplied component.
  • Agree actual scheduling and responsive-service arrangements.
  • Provide quantity and the controlling revision.
  • Define material, dimensional and surface approval evidence.

Retain approved geometry, material and finish changes with the order so production acceptance follows the actual custom iron casting.
