OEM metal-workpiece enquiries cover selected iron, steel and alloy materials through sand- or investment-casting requests. Define the complete grade and customized size for the actual drawing. The supply brief should identify the heat-treated condition and any subsequent work required before the component is accepted.

Submit geometry that defines the finished workpiece

Accepted drawing data includes 2D PDF/CAD and 3D IGES/STEP. Keep the model and drawing on the same controlled revision. Mark the datum relationships and interfaces that determine assembly, with final dimensions assigned to the required delivered condition.

Separate process stages in the acceptance brief

Heat treatment follows the selected casting route, with machining where needed before surface treatment. State which dimensions require final machining and which areas are accepted as cast. The required material condition should be connected to the actual grade and functional demands of the workpiece.

  • Identify key dimensions and their acceptance limits.
  • Mark finish coverage and any masking areas.
  • Define the material and surface records needed for approval.

Apply the inspection scope to key dimensions

Quality control combines random checks during production with 100% QC of key sizes. Identify those sizes explicitly so the inspection plan follows the functional drawing. Any additional checks should be included in the agreed component acceptance requirements.

Complete the finish and order definition

Choose painting, powder coating or a customer-requested treatment. Bubble-bag, carton and wooden-crate packing is named. The minimum-order reference is 100, with its unit and workpiece scope to be agreed alongside quantity and sample approval.
