Custom iron machinery components can be requested through OEM/ODM sand casting and machining. Select the complete grade and required condition around the actual part’s function. A controlled drawing should describe the cast shape and the final interfaces needed by the chosen machinery assembly.
Explain the machinery duty
Identify where the component mounts, locates or contacts surrounding machine elements. State the operating environment and requirements relevant to the selected design. Connect those conditions to the chosen material and the geometry governing installation or working fit.
Scope machining around functional geometry
Mark the dimensions and faces requiring further work after casting. Define the locating references, permitted limits and measurement conditions for those finished interfaces. Distinguish them from regions supplied in the cast state and identify relationships assessed together at approval.
Set the supplied surface and acceptance
Describe the appearance and contact result required at the actual component’s working areas. Agree any requested surface process for the selected substrate and supplied condition. Identify the material, dimensional and surface records needed to approve the precision requirement for that part.
- Provide the iron machinery item’s quantity and controlling drawing revision.
- Show its relationships with adjoining components.
- Explain the purpose and criteria of an initial-part assessment.
- Retain accepted grade and machining decisions within the component record.
Use the approved geometry and supplied-state definition when requesting further iron parts for the same machinery duty.
