OEM/ODM stainless-steel component enquiries include CNC turning and milling with customer-logo requests. Aluminum and iron sand- or investment-casting components are separate enquiries. Select the material grade and casting or incoming-blank route for the drawing, then define the finished geometry being ordered.
Separate turned and milled interfaces
Identify rotational geometry, locating faces and other interfaces requiring the selected CNC operations. Show how they relate to the component’s datum system and neighboring parts. Dimensions and acceptance limits should describe the supplied condition used to judge fit, with any cast areas distinguished from finished interfaces.
Make identification part of the drawing brief
Provide customer-logo artwork and identify its intended location on the component. Agree the requested marking or logo result within the order scope. Keep its placement clear of surfaces where contact, location or visual acceptance determines the part’s function.
- Specify the complete grade and material condition.
- Provide quantity and the controlled revision.
- Mark the geometry requiring CNC work.
- Define final surface and appearance requirements.
- Identify records supporting sample acceptance.
- Clarify the work included in the quotation.
Approve the component in its delivered state
Agree the dimensional, material and surface checks appropriate to the selected part. Where a sample accompanies the drawing, identify the geometry or appearance it is intended to illustrate. Use that agreed component definition for production acceptance, including the finished interfaces and customer identification requested for the order.
