    Customer's 3D Drawing

Stainless-steel industrial components can be specified through a 3D drawing and a defined delivered condition. This OEM/ODM investment-casting enquiry includes solution heat treatment, machining when required and sandblasting. Customized dimensions and customer-drawing tolerances guide the scope for the component being ordered.

Use the model and drawing to define the finished part

Identify the controlled 3D drawing and any dimensioned information needed to establish acceptance. Mark the functional surfaces, mating interfaces and individual tolerance requirements. The quotation can then distinguish the cast shape from dimensions that require additional machining.

  • Provide the component drawing revision and requested quantity.
  • Select the stainless-steel grade and applicable specification.
  • Identify the required solution-treated material condition.
  • Mark machined interfaces and finished dimensional limits.
  • State the sandblasted surface condition required on receipt.
  • Define inspection and acceptance requirements for the component.

Link solution treatment to the selected stainless grade

Solution heat treatment is the stated heat-treatment scope. Specify its application and the required delivery condition for the chosen stainless-steel grade. The industrial duty and material requirement should be part of that discussion so the casting and heat-treatment request refer to the same finished component.

Coordinate optional machining and sandblasting

For the selected stainless component, investment casting and any required machining are coordinated with the specified sandblasted surface condition. Identify where machining is required and how the finished interfaces should be delivered after sandblasting. ISO is a named standard-family reference, so specify the applicable document in the purchase requirements. An agreed material grade, drawing and acceptance basis define the industrial part more precisely than a general investment-casting description alone.
