A sample, drawing or design idea can begin a custom metal-casting project when its component requirements are made clear. This OEM service accepts aluminum, iron and steel enquiries with in-house mold making and finishing support. Establish the material grade, dimensions and supplied condition so the proposal can address a particular finished component.

Turn the design input into a part brief

Identify the intended use, quantity and acceptance dimensions relevant to the proposed component. PRO/E, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, UG and CAM are software resources named for the service, with the actual exchange format to be agreed for the project. The geometry and drawing notes should describe the same controlled part revision.

Select the route for that material

Investment or lost-wax, sand and die casting are separate manufacturing enquiries. Choose the applicable process for the selected alloy and geometry instead of treating every route as available for every material. In-house mold making can then be discussed against the defined component and its intended production requirement.

  • Painting is available for the selected component surface.
  • Powder coating provides an additional finishing enquiry.
  • Oxidation is another treatment choice for the agreed material.
  • Cartons, wooden boxes and pallets are packing references for the supply scope.

Agree the required evidence with the part

Define the conformity documents or test reports needed for the ordered component, with their applicable scope and acceptance criteria. Third-party testing can be discussed to customer requirements; CE, TUV and SGS references should be connected to the relevant documentation enquiry. The completed casting proposal should keep the selected material, route, finish and required evidence attached to the supplied part rather than assume a general approval covers every component.
