OEM custom component enquiries include ductile-iron and steel parts with sand/gravity-casting and precision-machining requests. Aluminum- and zinc-alloy components are separate material choices. Specify one complete grade and a suitable manufacturing route for the drawing being quoted, with tolerances assigned to its required delivered state.
Define the interfaces that determine industrial fit
Identify locating faces, mating geometry and dimensions that affect installation or movement within the assembly. State which areas require machining and which are accepted in their cast condition. Include operating requirements that influence the material condition or the selected component’s acceptance.
Choose the finish for the selected material
Painting, anodizing, powder coating and electrophoresis are named surface requests. Select a compatible treatment and describe the appearance, coverage and masking needed for the actual substrate. Where a treated face forms a fitted interface, identify the dimensional acceptance stage on the drawing.
Connect inspection to the finished component
The inspection scope is 100% before shipping. Define the actual checks and records around the part’s controlled interfaces, chosen material and final surface condition. Sample approval should refer to the same revision and acceptance requirements as the production order.
Complete the order definition
Minimum quantity is negotiated and export packing is named. Include quantity, supplied state and protection required for the finished geometry in the quotation brief. For the ISO2009 qualification designation, obtain the actual document and applicable scope so its role in supplier qualification is clearly established.
