OEM/ODMOEM ODM 3D print Service
Binder jetting is offered for custom foundry cores and casting molds made from silica sand with resin binder. These BJ 3D-printed sand deliverables are supplied as printed in tan or brown, with OEM/ODM support and a one-piece minimum for a defined core or mold request.
- Identify whether the deliverable is a core, mold or matched set.
- Supply the geometry and its relationship to the intended casting.
- Mark seating surfaces, interfaces and dimensional checks.
- State quantity and the required as-printed acceptance condition.
Size the printed core around the actual casting
Dimensions are customized, with 200 × 150 × 120 mm given as an example. Use the actual component geometry when requesting a quotation, and identify any sections or interfaces that influence handling and assembly. The example provides a dimensional reference rather than a maximum printing envelope.
Locate the tolerance requirement on the model
The stated tolerance reference is ±0.3 mm. Specify which dimensions require that control and how the printed sand item will be measured. Relating the tolerance to the core's locating surfaces and the intended casting process makes the acceptance requirement easier to evaluate than applying a single number without context.
Keep other prototype materials on their own brief
The sand-printing service is identified as non-CNC. PLA, ABS and PETG printing and micro-machining are additional service enquiries that should have their own material and processing definitions. For this sand core or mold, keep the silica-sand/resin-binder construction, as-printed condition and casting-related interfaces together in the approved order scope.
