Custom door and window hardware castings are offered in 304 or 316 stainless steel using investment/lost-wax casting with CNC machining. Color is customized, with dimensional and appearance acceptance defined for the actual hardware component.

Identify the hardware and its mating parts

Provide the component drawing and explain how it fits within the door or window assembly. Select the required 304 or 316 grade and identify the mounting, locating or moving interfaces that influence use. These details let the casting and machining enquiry address the part's own requirements.

Place the precision requirement on the drawing

The tolerance reference is 0.2 mm. Assign the applicable dimensions and supplied stage, then specify any other drawing limits needed at the CNC-machined interfaces. Relating each limit to its function gives the supplier a clear basis for planning and checking the finished component.

  • Submit the hardware drawing and controlled revision.
  • Select 304 or 316 stainless steel for the order.
  • Mark CNC-finished interfaces and dimensional acceptance.
  • Specify color, visible surfaces and appearance criteria.
  • State quantity and the required inspection record.

Define the visible and handled surface condition

Appearance requirements include burr, flash and sand-hole control. Identify visible and contact surfaces and agree the visual criteria used to accept them. Quality control is stated as 100% inspection, so the dimensional and appearance requirements can be included in the same inspection brief. Keep that brief with the selected grade and drawing for the ordered hardware component.
