Custom sand- and investment-casting enquiries include aluminum-bronze requests and separately selected stainless-steel, steel, brass, copper, aluminum, iron or plastic components. Specify the complete material designation and drawing for each item. The chosen route and supplied condition should describe the actual component being ordered.
Define machining or other subsequent work
Machining, welding and forging are named process choices for the selected material and geometry. Broaching, drilling, milling, turning, tapping and wire work are available machining requests, with the actual wire method to be specified. Supply scope includes molds, casting, deburring, surface treatment and packing.
Separate casting and machining acceptance
The casting reference is CT4–CT8 and machining tolerance is stated as ±0.02 mm. Assign controlled dimensions, datum relationships and delivered stages for those requirements. The drawing should identify which interfaces need final work and how they will be measured.
- State quantity and the controlled revision.
- Provide the grade and required condition.
- Mark functional dimensions and surface areas.
- Define inspection and sample approval records.
Specify finish and document selection
Define the required finish from polishing, passivation, sandblasting, zinc plating or black oxidation, with substrate compatibility and masking boundaries clear. The document families span ISO, GB, DIN, JIS, ANSI, BSW, ASTM, ASME, BS, API and EN; name the applicable document and edition. Identify the actual ISO9001-related and TUV documents and scope alongside the component acceptance requirements.
