Custom metal castings can be specified with selected CNC work and material-condition requirements. This OEM/ODM enquiry includes aluminum, copper, steel, grey iron and ductile iron. Sand, die and investment casting are route choices to select for the actual component drawing.
Define material and geometry before processing
Name the required grade and applicable standard for the chosen metal. Show the component's full shape and the interfaces that determine assembly or function. Size and tolerances follow the customer's drawing, so dimensional limits should be assigned to the relevant cast or finished surfaces.
- Supply 3D, CAD, DWG, STEP or PDF information.
- Select the metal grade and casting requirement.
- Identify the required aging or stress-relief condition.
- Mark CNC interfaces and finished acceptance limits.
- Describe the selected finish and quantity.
- Specify inspection records and qualification needs.
Select aging and secondary stress relief
Natural aging and secondary stress relief are named processing options. Agree the required condition for the selected component and material. Define any CNC work against that condition and the drawing so the casting and finishing request address the same supplied part.
Coordinate surface work and purchase requirements
Sandblasting, derusting, priming, painting, powder coating, polishing and anodizing are surface choices. Select the treatment appropriate to the metal and required function, with instructions for contact or measurement areas. The minimum order is one piece. ISO9001 is the qualification reference for which applicable documents and scope should be requested alongside the drawing and finished acceptance.
