Custom large iron sand-casting enquiries address heavy-machinery and equipment parts with heat-treatment requirements. Separate aluminum-alloy die-cast components are also within the enquiry scope. Each request needs its actual grade, component drawing and compatible production route so that the delivered condition is clearly defined.
Define the large iron component and required condition
Provide the overall envelope and the interfaces that position the part within its machine. Identify the required heat-treated condition and the service-duty acceptance established by the design. Actual large-part capability should be agreed against the selected geometry rather than a general size description.
- Supply the controlled drawing and required quantity.
- State the complete grade and material acceptance requirements.
- Mark mounting and mating geometry.
- Define the delivered dimensions and surface condition.
Specify the separate aluminum request
For the die-cast item, identify any machining needed at its finished interfaces and the required powder-coated condition. Mark coating boundaries where contact or locating surfaces need masking. These instructions should describe that component’s own geometry and acceptance requirements.
Connect processing with final approval
The enquiry should identify which treatment and subsequent operations apply to each ordered part. Define the material, dimensional and surface records needed for acceptance of the supplied condition. Where a sample or first component is approved, connect the decision to the relevant drawing revision and grade so that subsequent production follows the same requirements. Include any protection needed at finished interfaces in the quotation brief.
