Machining-ready iron sand castings are offered to customer drawings or samples, with GGG40, GGG50 and GGG60 ductile-iron choices. The enquiry can define the casting blank, machining work and surface condition needed for a particular component, including separately requested grey cast iron.

Distinguish casting control from machined accuracy

CT9–11 is the stated iron-casting tolerance reference. Machining references are up to IT7 and Ra 0.8–3.2, to be agreed for the controlled dimensions and surfaces. Specify the roughness unit and inspection stage so the casting and machining requirements have distinct roles in the component definition.

Identify the operations needed by the drawing

CNC machining, drilling, milling, boring and tapping are named services. Mark the faces, bores and threaded interfaces that require these operations, together with their datums and machining allowances. Select the actual iron grade and the delivered condition before assigning the final dimensional and surface requirements.

  • Provide the drawing revision or an identified reference sample.
  • Select GGG40, GGG50, GGG60 or the separate grey-iron requirement.
  • Mark cast dimensions and CNC-finished interfaces.
  • Specify IT7 or other drawing limits and the required roughness basis.
  • Define finish, quantity and component acceptance.

Select the coating and protective packing

Custom surface treatment, Dacromat coating and finish painting are named options. Identify the treated surfaces and areas needing protection. For a valve-cover order, multilayer wooden-box packing with a large inner plastic bag is described; agree the packing arrangement applicable to the component being supplied.
