OEM spare-part enquiries include stainless-steel sand or investment castings and separately specified steel or carbon-steel machinery components. Select the full material grade and actual route for the drawing. Define the component’s required supplied condition before assigning subsequent machining or surface work.
Show what the spare part must fit
Identify mounting faces, mating details and functional contact geometry within the intended assembly. Mark datums and dimensional limits for those interfaces. Where an existing part illustrates the request, distinguish wear or damage from the design that governs the replacement.
Assign machining and treatment requirements
Machining-center work can be included where needed after casting. Mark finished interfaces and the stage at which their dimensions are accepted. Customized tempering is listed; a T6-labelled request needs an appropriate alloy and heat-treatment condition established for the actual order.
Define the requested surface
Surface treatment follows customer demand. Specify coverage, masking and the final condition required at working or visible faces. Include material, dimensional and appearance records that demonstrate the selected component’s approval requirements.
Complete the quotation and qualification request
The minimum-order reference is 1000, with unit and order basis to be agreed. Request applicable ISO/TS16949:2002 and ISO9001 documents and supplier scope. Provide quantity and controlled revision with any sample-acceptance instructions, keeping production approval tied to the same material, geometry and delivered-state definition used for the spare-part enquiry.
