OEM/ODMAccecpted
A machined casting request should define the metal, cast shape and final interfaces together. This OEM/ODM enquiry covers brass, aluminum, bronze, zinc and steel components, with sand-, die- and investment-casting routes selected for the design. Customized shape, material and surface requirements follow the component request.
- Provide 2D PDF/CAD drawings or 3D IGES/STEP geometry.
- Select the metal grade and required casting route.
- Identify the interfaces needing finished machining.
- State quantity and the requested delivered condition.
- Specify the surface treatment and acceptance requirements.
- Describe the sample evaluation and documentation needed.
Separate cast dimensions from machined interfaces
Show the complete component and the dimensions that determine installation or function. Mark any surfaces requiring machining and place the finished limits on the relevant dimensions. This defines the optional machining scope against the cast part rather than applying a general instruction to every surface.
Select the route and finish for the requested metal
For each selected metal, the casting can include the required interface machining and the surface treatment called out on its drawing. Specify the sand-, die- or investment-casting requirement for the selected grade and geometry. Finish follows the drawing request, so describe the required result and any contact areas needing particular instructions.
Define sample and supply requirements
Samples are available for the component enquiry. State what the evaluation must establish and which drawing requirements govern it. Box, carton and pallet packing are identified supply options, while ISO9001:2015 is the qualification reference. Identify the relevant supplier-document scope alongside the material, drawing and inspection requirements for the ordered part.
