Custom gray-iron air-compressor housings are offered with sand casting and an ASTM A48 material reference. Ductile-iron components are separate requests. OEM/ODM dimensions and tolerances follow the drawing for the actual compressor housing or other component being ordered.
Define the grade and compressor duty
Specify the ASTM A48 class and required condition for the gray-iron selection, or the full designation for a separate ductile-iron part. State the actual operating duty and component requirements. Identify the material and design-specific evidence needed for approval of the intended housing.
Show locating, mounting and connection geometry
Mark the interfaces joining the housing to its surrounding assembly. Put datums and dimensional relationships on the drawing for the surfaces controlling fit. Distinguish cast-state form from areas requiring a particular finished condition, with the measurement stage identified for acceptance.

Agree inspection against the actual supplied design
The stated 100% inspection under an ISO9001-system reference should address the agreed housing characteristics and records. Retain approved material, interface and surface changes with the component definition so production acceptance follows the actual compressor casting and required installation condition.
