Automotive grey-iron reducer housings are offered with casting, machining and electric coating. OEM/ODM dimensions and tolerances follow customer drawings. Aluminum sand casting, pattern making and in-house machining are additional service enquiries. Define the requested pattern or aluminum component separately from the specified housing and its automotive duty.
Define the housing’s connected interfaces
Show the reducer’s mounting arrangement and the mating geometry of adjoining components. Identify locating references, controlled dimensions and the final supplied condition needed at each interface. Explain which relationships govern alignment and installation in the actual automotive assembly.
Coordinate machining and electric coating
Specify the machining operations required to achieve the selected housing geometry. Mark coated surfaces and any areas needing masking or another contact result. Define coating thickness and acceptance conditions where the finish affects a working interface or dimensional measurement.
- Provide the housing drawing revision and required quantity.
- Identify the complete grey-iron grade and material condition.
- Describe the reducer duty relevant to component acceptance.
- Keep any aluminum component or pattern request separately defined.
Agree inspection around the supplied housing
Professional inspection should address the component’s actual material, geometry and coating requirements. Request applicable ISO9001:2015 documentation with the relevant holder and activity scope. Establish measurement stages and approval records for the controlled interfaces, keeping accepted machining and finish decisions attached to the housing drawing used for subsequent production requests.
