Sand Casting TypeGreen Sand Casting
Custom steel green-sand castings can be requested with machining and polished surfaces. Supply can follow a drawing, a sample or combined drawing-and-sample requirements. Select the complete steel grade and material condition for the actual component and its required supplied state.
Establish the controlling part definition
Identify what the reference sample is intended to demonstrate and which drawing requirements govern acceptance. Keep any agreed geometry changes connected to the controlling revision. Show the component’s function and working relationships with adjoining equipment.
Separate cast and machined geometry
Mark mounting, locating and mating interfaces requiring final work. Put dimensional limits and measurement conditions beside the relationships controlling installation or operation. Distinguish those contacts from regions accepted in the cast state so the requested machining addresses the actual part’s final fit.
Define the polished supplied surface
Identify the faces receiving polishing and the required appearance or working-contact result. Specify treated areas and any surfaces needing a different condition. Connect the finish requirements to the selected steel and the stage at which the component is approved.
- State the steel casting’s quantity and controlling design revision.
- Describe the selected application and operating duty.
- Identify material, dimensional and surface records for approval.
- Explain what an initial component must demonstrate against its mating arrangement.
Retain accepted sample, grade and machining decisions within the part definition used to confirm subsequent supply for the same working purpose.
